Tech solutions provider catapults into new markets from Electric Works
Founded by Phil Henly in 2017, CYBRID Solutions employs 23 people and turns over £2.5 million a year. The company supports businesses to grow through proactive IT services. Historically, the specialist team of tech engineers and IT consultants operated out of their Portsmouth home, growing a loyal customer base in and around the surrounding southern counties.
The recent appointment of Sales Director Mark Pedler, and a strategy to grow relationships and business in northern regions, led this ambitious tech solutions company to open an office in Electric Works, Sheffield, in April this year.
We met up with Sales Director Mark Pedler, a seasoned IT professional with over two decades of experience, to ask why Electric Works was top of the list when planning their new northern headquarters.
Mark said: “Phil and I used to talk about one day having an office in Electric Works. The building is iconic in Sheffield. It’s the first workspace you see when you step out of the train station. It’s been joined by neighbouring space providers in recent years but it pioneered the Digital Campus development, and it’s home to the largest office-based helter-skelter in the UK. What’s not to love! As a tech business in Sheffield with global ambitions, the Electric Works package - the location, the service, the centre team and the brand - it all aligns perfectly with what we want to achieve. It’s the ideal launchpad for our northern operations.”
The new office space is to be known simply as CYBRID Sheffield. With two world class universities in the city, UK Catapults, a strong exporting SME base and a growing portfolio of global brands located in the region, the five year plan is to take CYBRID Solutions international. Mark explains; “The Sheffield office is just the start. From our base here we can better build and service those northern relationships but our business is not limited to the UK. We are competitive in a global marketplace and over the next five years we have plans to replicate this model in the US, Middle East and Asia. Our people and our specialist offer transcends borders - it's all about having a presence in the heart of the market you are servicing and that is what we’ll do.”
