Tech giant Sky Betting & Gaming is investing a further £3.5m in its Sheffield office here at EW to create 160 more jobs.

The online betting business has signed a new, five-year lease at the Electric Works in Sheffield and the company’s city offices now cover 13,862 sq ft.

The Sheffield offices also develops the critical components of the UK-facing product stack.

Sky Bet has extended its premises in Sheffield three times since the office opened and the new agreement means that the business will cover full balance of the first floor of the Electric Works.

Sky Bet was advised by Knight Frank and CPP.

Simon Ince, director of international technology, said: “We initially looked to Sheffield to help us meet our talent needs in terms of building a diverse and highly skilled workforce and this investment evidences the success of our growth plans.

“Our core reasons for staying with The Electric Works are the keen pricing, the proximity to rail, bus and parking is unbeatable and to continue to build on our existing investment in infrastructure.”
